I've had my first hatch of the year, it was not a good hatch. Many of the eggs were infertile due to cold weathers but I hatched some chicks non-the-less. I'm always amazed with the first hatch as I look in wonder at the chicks that were a gleem in my eye just three weeks ago Good luck with your hatches this year, in a few months I'll have so many chicks I'll be asking myself why! ;D Mark

I'm a crazy fool for hatching too. I went and hatched out 21 in January and I've been busy trying to keep them warm ever since. The wife seems to have issues with chicks in the house lol. Now they are pretty much feathered out so I think the worst is over but man... I had a really high January electric bill... Andrew (36 more in the incubator )

Andrew,
That is exactly my situation, my wife has a fit about chicks in the house. I found a way to set up my brooder with towels over the sides and it keeps the chicks warm so I'm lucky there. I have around 180 eggs set as of yesterday...........It never ends! LOL

I only have two of them so far and they are doing well, however I have a couple doz eggs in the bator. Keeping my fingers crossed that they hatch. If they don't I'll have plenty of opportunity this year to hatch some, it is just nice to have them feathered out by fall.
