Well, I traded off all the chicks that I thought were Black Australorps and got most of my chicks back They are SO cute and most of them look like a typical BA chick except that they have a red mask instead of white! They should really be pretty when they get older! I also got an adult cochin (blue crossed americana). He is really pretty too. Oddly enough, he is mostly blue with brown in his neck feathers. Very interesting combo. I didn't realize that they were SO big!! He's as big as my BA roo! Got me some new ducklings too. Oh boy, what a hoot!

You should see a quality standard cochin, they would tower over your australorps!!

Pictures of these breeds just don't do them justice because they aren't really standing next to anything of size. I mean, if someone were to stand next to their chickens and have their pic taken, then that would give me some idea of how big they are. When I got my BA roo, well, he stands about up to my knee (his head that is) and this cross cochin is well, the same height but his girth is another 1/4 bigger than the BA! Holy cow they are big!
Now I am really curious just how big a Jersey Giant is!!

make sure the jersey giant is full grown, they take around 3 years to complete their growth, thats when they are at their prime in height and weight!!
