saw some of those saddles in the Cabela's Fly Shop...
Is that where you are going with those? Or is this just a pet project?

These are actualy birds I'm working into my phoenix project. But if I processed them they would definetly look similar in a package! Thanks for the comments, BTW they are straight comb birds but I dubbed them because they had frost bite KB

Rick, I was just looking at the bird in the top picture today and his all of his tail feahters are still in full bloodfeather. After they dry down I'll post another picture of him. He is starting to impress me. Later, Mark

mark, you ought to try and cross him back into one of your red phoenix hens and see how they come out. i think they would be pretty unique looking. -tony

Here is an up-dated picture of the dark barred rooster above. His saddles are still in blood feather and his saddles touch the ground. I now have him over a few hens so the feathers may get broken but I realy want chicks out of this rooster this year Hope you like the pic, I took it at night to get the black background. Mark

Thank you for the compliments It keeps me encouraged to keep up the projects. As far as an update, I'm currently just waiting durrin the growing period. I have several birds that are looking great from barred light dun to dark barred like the bird pictured above. I'll post some pics in a few weeks. As for the saddles they can't get any longer without getting ruined by dirt and mud, so if I want to get them even longer I'm going to have to build some tombaku to hold them in. I'll keep everyone updated. Mark
