after much consideration, my husband finally decided that he was old enough to be interested in fly tying... LOL! What are some good sites to do some research on that? He was thinking of getting of of those kits through Cabela's but he doesn't know for sure. If he decides to do this, it will take my breeding program in an all new direction!

For what it's worth, in my opinion, don't buy a kit. They give you a bunch of junk, you just don't need and can't work with. Best advice I can give, is to get a good book, and there are several out there. And pick up what you need and when you need it. Good luck.

I agree with Stan. Another thing to do is find a good fly shop near you and visit them and ask advice, it will save him money and time in the long run. Hope this helps.

Here is a pic of a grizzly dry fly I tied. It is size 16 (much, much smaller than the photo implies) This is tied with grizzly hackle from CR Bird farms. ;D KB

Rick,
Nope, that is actualy the tip of my hackle pliers. I just pinched the hook so I could hold it and take a picture.
I'll try and post a pic of the fly next to a quarter or something so everyone can see the size.

Here is a pic of the another fly I tied (it may be the same one, I can't remember) next to a half dollar to give you an idea of the size. CP
