I just read a post at another forum (it is a very good beginners forum but does not need to be named here). It seems that a discussion of genetic diversity came up and someones post was deleted for mentioning gamefowl (fighting chickens) I'm at a loss why this would happen. Does anyone have an idea why a poultry forum would ban the topic of gamefowl if refered to in a discussion about genetic diversity?
I'd just like to get some reactions.

Mark, I never saw the full discussion. In what context were game fowl mentioned? Of course there is regular discussion of game breeds on that forum, but not the actual activity of cock fighting.
I think the major problem was that the poster had been banned in the past for other offenses, and the moderator decided to cut him no slack.

I'm not sure, I wish I knew also. That is why I posted this so maybe I could uncover more information.
I'm not saying anything bad about the forum, it is a great forum with a lot of helpful members.
We'll see maybe someone knows more, it appears that the whole thread was deleted as I can not find any discussion on genetic diversity.
In addition I firmly believe that it is essential to protect gamefowl due to the genetics that they have to offer, this is the main reason I'm interested in this topic.

Politics at work, i'm sure the moderators want to cover every base, it's a controversial subject these days, no matter in what context it was brought up.

Isn't it funny that the more people know, the more they want to ignore the past. With cock fighting not being politically correct we are loosing out on some of the best genetics that history could offer. What a shame.

thats right i have raised gamefowl for 11 years i more than a bunch of older people ask me anything 9 out of 10 times i can answer it when it comes to pit fowl most breeding topics and overall rearing of chicks.any body who can raise 1000 birds a year knows what he or she is talking about now imagine that number and think how you would keep those fighters seperated if they can get to each other one or both will die.gamefowl is the best description of good breeders.thats why they have been around a few thousand years.just my thoughts on things.i have told a person on another website to delete my account because they didnt like the words cull or game chicken.
