Hey Guys,
I see all of these longtailed birds like the onagadori and the phoenix and they are such beautiful birds. I would like to get into them after my flock has been destroyed because of recent AI outbreaks in the area. I would like to learn as much about them as possible before I actually get some. I will only be able to get new birds in 6 months so hopefully I will be able to learn a bit! If any of you guys would like to teach me something about them, that would be great. I also registered at the longtailed fowl breeders/enthusiasts MSN group, my screename is Bantaman. Thanks a bunch!

If you come upon any questions, feel free to ask. I'm sure someone can answer them. First thing you should do is read up on the birds at Marc King's site: www.longtail-fowl.comThis will give you a great background. With Phoenix only silver and golden duckwing are recognized by the APA so if you want to show I would get one of thoes. It seems like a lot of longtail breeders just like breeding for their own enjoyment. I have several projects going and almost all of them focus on long tails, multiple feathering and long saddles. If you have an incubator I'm willing to send you some eggs when you are cleared to get some birds Cheers, KB PS. Also visit Strut your stuff poultry site (link posted in this forum) There are some awsome birds pictured there and some great conversations.

I have read through Mark Kings site many yimes before, and have learned alot from it. I am really hoping to find some breeders in Canada, but I will probably have to settle for US eggs. If you have any information you would like to tell me from your personal experiences then please do!

My friend, MajesticLongtails, at Strut Your Stuff Poultry, has a friend in Canada that has longtails. Come join our group and contact him through there.

I have joined the group but I am waiting to be accepted. Do you know what varieties/breeds of longtails he has?

Go to the photo albums at the site, page 2, I believe it's called "Donald's Animals in Canada".
